This small, urban plot located close to the East Boston waterfront is the 2006 project for This Old House. SiteCreative provided a bold and simple plan that makes the most of the small property size, designed with well balanced proportions and a restrained vocabulary of materials. Stepping stones placed in an arc lead to a small seating area in the backyard, defining a private urban oasis in this busy neighborhood. Plants were selected for low maintenance and their ability to withstand the urban location and New England climate.
